To celebrate this years International Women's Day and the Centenary of Women being given the right to vote, BBC Singer Songwriter Claire Mooney and the Moving House Band will stage a special historic gig to mark the occasion in Levenshulme.

The concert will kick start the Manchester Irish Festival St Patrick's Parade weekend at the newly launched 'Cedar Music Venue' which is situated on the first floor of the award winning Fred's Ale House. This isn't Claire's only centenary gig she has been commissioned to perform a special performance with Helen Pankhurst the great great granddaughter of Women's Rights activist Emmeline Pankhurst.

The Irish singer-songwriter and Levenshulme resident ‘Claire Mooney’ has been described by the M.E.N. as “the numero uno female singer-songwriter in town” by TV music presenter Terry Christian. She currently holds the record for writing and performing on a weekly basis a news of the week song on the BBC for just over three years. See www.clairemooney.co.uk for more details about her back music and songwriting workshops and commissions.

Clare will headline the all female line up which also includes Levenshulme Poet Alex Kealan and Singer Marie Crook plus a host of special guests. Feel free to bring along your instruments if you fancy joining in the 'House Band' which is always a highlight of Claire's concerts. The award winning Italian Cibus Pizza Pop-up restaurant is open from 6pm for a pre-show meal, but please book in advance through Fred's Ale House.

Tickets for the concert are just £5 in advance available from the venue or online.
