Manchester join forces with Westport in Mayo to celebrate town's 250th anniversary
The award winning 6 Day Mayo Manchester Tradfest have teamed up with www.destinationwestport.com and will be heading to Westport during its 6 Day MMTradfest which runs from Thursday 3 August to Wednesday 9 August. The Festival features over 500 performers taking part in over 100 events.
As well as a host of fringe events taking place in Westport the group of award winning performers will stage a special Westport 250 Gala Concert on Monday 7 August at Westport Town Hall. The event has been kindly sponsored by Rosgal Civil Engineers, Manchester.
The award winning Trad band 'Flatout' will be joining forces with Mayo Manchester to celebrate Westport's 250th anniversary. The band will be joined by the Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band, Joe Keegan from the TV show the Voice and dancers from the Keegan Academy of Irish Dance, plus Dennis McCalmount and special guests.

Flat Out are a young, energetic band from Ballina, County Mayo in the West of Ireland. The group comprises of cousins Ciara O’Donnell and Mark O’Donnell, plus friends, Brid O’Donnell and Harry Lawlor. They formed in 2013 and have gained great momentum since then. Winners of the 2014 ‘Le Crunch Apple of my Eye’ competition in association with Today FM, this has allowed them to perform in many great venues around Ireland and abroad. In addition to touring around Ireland, Flat Out have performed across the UK, Europe, America and quite recently Malawi, Africa. Coming from a traditional Irish music background, all members perform lead and backing vocals depending on the song and between them play guitar, fiddle, accordion, harp, bodhran, flute and tin whistle. Joe Keegan is an Irish Singer, musician and dancer who shot to fame on the BBC TV Show The Voice, he is currently studying music at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music and captains the Universities Irish Dancing team.
