The Murphy Sisters to make UK Debut in Manchester

The Murphy Sisters (Sarah Jane, Katie Alice and Rachel Rose) who hail Garrawadreen which just outside Claremorris in County Mayo are to make their UK debut in Manchester when they headline the Mayo Manchester 'Mayo Day' Tradfest on Saturday 5 May at m19 Bar and music venue in Levenshulme.

The Trad group have just come back from a sell out tour of France where they headlined the Urban Voices festival playing in front of crowds of over 14,000. Since coming back to Ireland they have been busy building up their fan base in Dublin playing the prestigious Temple Bar Tradfest where they won an 8 month Tour of the USA which starts in June.

Their music is Steeped in the heritage of Irish music and their style is a fusion of folk, country and traditional. They are highly regarded for their sweet harmonies and combine this with some robust playing that has enthralled audiences wherever they've performed. Song writing plays an important role in the group's work and they have written and composed some fantastic songs which have been well received at various gigs countrywide.

The Mayo Day concert in Manchester is one of the flagship events for worldwide celebrations for its annual celebration of all things Mayo related with other events taking place back home in Mayo and the four corners of the world with the USA, South Asia, Europe and Australia all joining in the fun which aims to unite the 9.3 million people with Mayo roots around the globe.
