The top five highlights for this years 2018 Manchester Irish Festival St Patrick's Parade Weekend are as follows:

1. Friday 9 March

Irish Charity Night at St Antony's Catholic School in Urmston hosted by Joe Casserley

This annual event launches the Parade celebrations in Manchester with a host of live Irish Music, Song and Dance. There is a licensed bar and the ticket includes a free bowl of Irish Stew.

2. Saturday 10 March

The fun starts early with the live screening of the Northwest Derby of Manchester United v Liverpool with United and Liverpool both setting their sets on the second place in the Premiership it promises to be a great match to watch, followed by Ireland v Scotland in the 6 Nations, followed by France v England.

Watch all the action from the days sporting fixtures including Manchester United v Liverpool 12.30pm plus the 6 Nations Ireland v Scotland 2.15pm and France v England 4.45pm

3. The NATIONAL IRISH STUDIES CONFERENCE Presented by the Manchester Irish Education Group (MIEG) Saturday 10 March 2018, 9am - 4.30pm

4. If you have a ticket for the SOLD OUT Rattle n Reel 30th Anniversary Concert at St Kent's Irish Centre, then there is only one place you will be heading. Other hotly tipped gigs are the International Women's Day Centenary Concert by BBC Singer Songwriter, Claire Mooney and Friends at Fred's Ale House. Tickets are almolst Sold out for this gig as well, so check with venue.

5. Manchester Irish Festival St Patrick's Day Parade. The popular event starts at the Irish World Heritage Centre at 12 noon and arrives in Albert Square at 1pm
